Isaac
Beren
Founding Partner
Isaac is the 4th generation of his family to be active in the Exploration and Production (E&P) sector of the Oil and Gas industry. Isaac has been a principal at Gold Heritage Capital for the past 6 years. At the helm, he has helped guide the firm to successfully foray into several asset classes including, Real Estate, Venture Capital, and both direct lending and equity investments. Both Religion and Family life play a large role into shaping Isaac into the man he is today. Isaac was born and spent his first 16 years of his life in Denver Colorado. His family lived there due to them being in the Oil and Gas industry, and having a Jewish day School for their children to attend. Today, Isaac and his wife live in Long Island, New York. Isaac enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 children. His hobbies also include tennis, reading, and learning new subjects, and he especially enjoys studying his Jewish religion. Isaac also enjoys writing and has published a book on his illustrious grandfather, titled” The Life and Legacy of Sheldon K. Beren”. He is also an avid sports fan. Isaac is also a very passionate supporter of charities, and constantly seeks out meaningful ways to make a difference in the broader community, and to the lives of others.
Akiba

Akiba is a seasoned finance professional with 30+ years of experience in energy credit and equity research, portfolio management, and strategic consulting. Most recently, Akiba ran AMC Strategic, a consulting firm he founded. There he advised family offices and family-owned businesses on a broad range of areas including strategic initiatives, balance sheet management, capital allocation and acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to that, Akiba spent 12 years as a portfolio manager at Millennium Management, with a particular focus on high yield energy and small cap energy equities. Prior to Millennium, Akiba was an analyst focused on the resource space in a credit-focused team within SAC. Prior to SAC, Akiba was a sell-side energy and basic materials analyst at Morgan Stanley where he was voted by leading buyside investors to Institutional Investor's All-America Fixed-Income team for both categories for the years 2000 through 2004. Akiba started his career at DLJ and Moody’s, where he worked in the energy ratings group. A native New Yorker, Akiba graduated Queens College Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Economics. Akiba also received the Paul Klapper Award as a Valedictorian of his graduating class.
Taylor
Morris
Managing Director – Head of Origination
Taylor Morris has over a decade of oil and gas finance experience. Taylor has spent the last 12 years serving upstream and energy infrastructure companies as a member of the corporate finance team at BOK Financial. While there, he was responsible for structuring and executing secured debt transactions, advising on commodity hedging execution, and identifying acquisition and divestiture opportunities for energy companies. An original Texan, Taylor went on to attend Texas A&M University where he received a BA in Finance & Business Honors with a Minor in Economics.
David
Phung
Managing Director
David’s experience in the upstream oil and gas industry spans more than 20 years. He most recently held a position as Chief Financial Officer and member of the board of directors of Greenfire Resources. Prior to that, as an independent consultant, David provided insolvency, restructuring and corporate finance advisory services to the management team and board of directors at Greenfire Oil and Gas. In 2019, David co-founded Navitas Asset Management, a direct lending fund that focused on providing alternative financing solutions to the Western Canadian upstream energy sector, which did not become operational due to the pandemic. David's capital markets experience includes his time as an Equity Research Analyst at Credit Suisse where he built and led the Canadian and international oil and gas research coverage. Prior to that, he held various positions of increasing responsibility as Operations Engineer in Central Alberta and the Alberta Foothills, Exploitation Engineer for Southeast Saskatchewan Bakken, and as a member of the North American Corporate Planning and Strategy group, all at Talisman Energy Inc. Hailing from Alberta, David attended the University of Alberta, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with Distinction. David is also member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Steven
Puderbeutel
Head of Marketing & Investor Relations
Steven brings over half a decade of experience in hedge fund cap intro, marketing, and investor relations. Most recently he was an IR associate at Logista Advisors, a regulated commodity trading fund. There he was responsible for all the firm’s marketing & investor relations activities. Prior to Logista he was at Adventure Media, a digital marketing agency in New York. Steven attended Touro College’s NYSCAS where he received a BS in Business Management & Administration.
Price
Livingston
Executive Director
From 2023 to 2025, Price was engaged in numerous consulting and entrepreneurial projects within the Oil & Gas space, including assisting the Fifth Ocean Group in their effort to acquire Total’s non-operated working interest in the Santos Basin. Most recently, Price pursued the acquisition of an operated position in the Southern portion of the Permian’s Eastern Shelf.
Price is a co-founder and former Vice President of Verdad Resources where from 2016 to 2022, he led a full-cycle PE capital raise and exit for the company at a >$1B valuation. During this time, Verdad grew into one of the most significant pure-plays in the DJ Basin. At Verdad, his responsibilities included a number of finance, acquisition, accounting, and midstream related activities.
Prior to Verdad, Price was a Finance Associate at Chesapeake Energy, working on numerous acquisition & divestiture assignments. Price and his team advised on the monetization options for Chesapeake’s expansive mineral and override portfolio, where he ultimately led the process on the sale of Chesapeake’s Non-Operated Minerals to Haymaker for $130MM at ~10x TTM EBITDA.
He received his Bachelors of Arts in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007 and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014.
